Mareike Dobewall is a director, scenographer and composer. Her work is not bound to a genre but rather crosses the boundaries of genres and includes various art forms.

 

She has professionally worked with film, theatre, dance, opera and installation art. In the past years she has put her main focus on the qualities of sound in live performance.

 

Mareike Dobewall is also artistic researcher. In 2021 she completed her PhD at Stockholm University of the Arts within the PhD programme Performative and Media based practices, with a specialization in Opera.

Teaching

Since 2017 Mareike Dobewall has been teaching regularly at DOCH, School of Dance and Circus and the University College of Opera at Stockholm University of the Arts. In 2018 she held a workshop for music students at the University of Guadalajara. 2019 Mareike Dobewall held a workshop in collaboration with sound artist Trond Lossius at KHiO in Oslo.
